Good riddance to bad rubbish.

William Freund is dead.

I know, maybe I should have more sympathy for the deceased, but when someone has a history of making death threats and stalking, it’s hard to not be glad they’re gone. The real shame is that he murdered two innocent people before he offed himself.

Hurricane Wilma update.

Officially, I’m “hunkering down”. That doesn’t mean much; I’m currently in my car, in the carport, with my laptop connected to the Internet through my 802.11b network. I’m out here because it’s cool and I don’t have to worry about waking Dad up.

I’m still around.

I know I haven’t posted much lately, but most of what’s going on in my life is a bit more personal than I’m used to. Normally I’d share this with my readers (both of you) but there’s another person involved and I don’t know whether, or to what degree, she wants to be identified.

I’ll fill you in as soon as I get the all clear.

Blogging from the Apple Store.

Filed under: Technology @ 6:14 pm

I had some business to take care of in Orlando today, so I stopped at the Apple Store at the Mall at Millenia to take a look at the new iPod Nano. All I can say is, it’s sweet. I want one. (The size and durability are actually improved enough over the full size iPod to make one worthwhile—I wouldn’t take my 30GB third-generation iPod jogging, for example, but the Nano has no moving parts inside.)

Of course, all of the display Macs are connected to the Net, so I’m currently blogging from an iMac G5. (They’re pretty impressive too. I want two of them, one for me and one for my mother.) The Mighty Mouse, on the other hand, is a bit lackluster. I need tactile feedback of what’s being clicked, and the Mighty Mouse doesn’t provide it.
